Innovation & High-Tech in Israel Seminar in Bangkok - March 10, 2013
The exclusive seminar which, hosted more than 50 seniors from important companies and organizations in Thailand, was organized by the Trade and Economic Mission at the Embassy of Israel in Bangkok to introduce Israel's startup and IIT expereince to Thai hi-tech companies, investors and startups. Dr. Vardi, keynote speaker of the event, is also known as an "Early Stage Startups' Angel Investor". He already invested in more than 50 companies, many of them were later sold for profit or went public. In 1996 Vardi became one of the funders of Mirabilis, inventor of ICQ, the first instant messaging application that was released to the web. Mirabilis was then sold to AOL for over 400 million dollars.
